GUEST SPEAKERS:

WAYNE introduced our speakers by reminding us that former member Thomas Fischer, executive director of Habitat, and leader of the Frosty Fischers raised some $3500 by participating in the Polar Bear Dip, Jan. 1st.  Habitat has been in operation since 1976 and their mission is to eradicate poverty in housing. Their motto is “it’s a hand up not a hand out”. Natasha spoke about the new projects and how we can get involved by volunteering and Susan ran the power point. Very interesting and it looks like a very busy few years coming up and a great chance for some of us to volunteer to work on a building project.

(I did it last year and it was a great experience, very educational and a lot of fun.)
