BRAMALEA ROTARY BULL-A-TON for AUG 14, 2013

GUESTS:

FORMER MEMBER AND PAST PRESIDENT AND PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR AND A MAN WHO NEEDS NO ITRODUCION, SO WE DIDN’T.

HAPPY BUCKS:

JACK: On the golf coarse the other day, Pauline asked what kind of shot she should she should do next, she was about 30 yards from the green, I suggested she pitch a shot up to the green and let it roll to the cup. “Just pitch and roll” I said again. So she hit a shot and fell to ground and started rolling towards the green. I thought she had actually fell but was laughing anyway asking her what she was doing, Pitch and roll just like you said. Don’t know what the group behind us thought of me as I sat in the golf cart laughing while she was rolling around on the ground. I guess you had to be there.

RUSS: He fell in the tub today, he is okay but Linda panicked at the noise he made. No insurance claim this week. Also #4 Grandson born. 1 more for a basketball team.

TERRY PALMAY: Nice to see at least one of us, misses the chance to insult Jerry. His mother turns 90 and all is well with the rest of the family.

TINA: Happy to see Terry, (now we know which one he is happy to see). She went golfing with her sister and had a great time. Her and her sister will be singing a duet in church next week.

D WAC: Happy to see Terry and he is sure that he is the One that Terry is happy to see.

NORBERT: He and Liz had a great time on their cruise in Northern Europe.

DANNIE; Happy Terry here and his granddaughter is going for her black belt in Karate. She is still on the 1st level so it will take a few years.

WAYNE: He won’t be here next Wed. as it is their 30th wedding anniversary and they will be busy doing kissy smoochie kinda stuff.  ( Didn’t mention this but I know that the Terry Fox run is coming up in a few weeks, and Wayne and his family will be running again and would love for all of us to sponsor him, so please do, when he comes back he would love to be swamped with pledges.)

HAPPY BUCKS:

GYAN won, and it is about time somebody other than Dannie won.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

RUSS: Aug 28th, Wednesday there will be no noon meeting. 8 of our members are playing in the Dreams Take Flight Golf Tournament, so we are inviting anyone who wants can join us at dinner time at the Royal Ontario Golf Coarse. He has details.

WAYNE: As club secretary has gone over the 2013-14 club budget and found some short falls but it will be adjusted because it is only and estimate, due to no hockey and not exactly sure what Bingo will bring in.

PRES. JEREMY:      World Polio Day is Thursday Oct 24 and would like all our members to join him in distributing literature at the Bramalea Go station that morning. Please put this in your calendars and be there if you can.

Gyan and Shashi are celebrating their 53 wedding anniversary.

Would like to have a Directors meeting after Rotary next week, but we may not have a quorum. If we have enough directors there then there will be a meeting, if not then there won’t. Clear as mud.

JACK: BINGO Thursday August 22. 9:30 – 12:30. So far he has been to every bingo and it is not his turn yet (Russ too) He hopes that all who can will show up for a few minutes so that he can explain what to do and how to sign in. It should only take a few minutes. They could also see how it actually works. I know Tina is coming because I filled in for her a few weeks ago. We only need 2 members there to get credit, but if we don’t have 2 then it is for not.

I also want to thank Dannie for letting me know that as of August 9, 2013 I was 25,891 days old. Which is 3,698 weeks and 5 days. That’s 70 years and 323 days, including 18 leap years, and if he didn’t make me feel old enough, I am 851.03 months old or 70.88 years. I was born on a Sunday and this year my birthday is on a Friday. That is all great stuff, but I really didn’t think I was that old, now I feel rotten.

I asked him to do Ray, he tried, but his computer overloaded and blew up.
