ANNOUNCEMENTS:

JACK: We just heard that Tony’s (Spot One owner) mother passed away last night. Our club will be sending flowers or something. Randy has notified Russ, (I think)

We have 10 members and 2 guests,  BINGO TONIGHT, Team 3, and Sat. 21 # 4, 6:30. April 13th, we have our Quint Meeting at Rotary Glen, Mayor Linda Jeffery is the speaker. We will attend as a club, so no Wed. noon meeting that week.

RANDY: As well as the Quint Meeting April 13, we have an evening meeting March 23 in Guelph to hear the R.I. President speak. No noon meeting that week either.

D MAC:  Still looking for names and numbers for Race Day, May 23. Next Wed. meeting at Habitat Building site. Be there at 11;45 if possible. Ware safety boots if you got them. Bring friends if you got them, they will supply a nice lunch in a heated tent and then let us see the new buildings.

He went to St.Thomas Aquinas School to arrange for the Ray Gibson Scholarship and received a great letter fro a previous recipient who is so thankful for the Scholarship she received. Very nice to hear from someone who really appreciated the help we give.

HAPPY BUCKS:

JACK: Friday the 13th not unlucky for him, it is his and Pauline’s 50th Wedding anniversary. He sure is a lucky guy. ( She hasn’t dumped him yet.)

D MAC: Bozo Buck; lost his wallet at the restaurant this morning, good thank Jack and Norbert fount it and called him. He had to go all the way back to pick it up and they didn’t take anything, he checked, all $4;00 was still there.

TINA: Happy Rick is here checking out the club, and happy to be happy?

SHANTA: Happy that her sister in law was able to donate a kidney to her husband, because he is Shanta’s brother, I think that is how it went, but all is well, thankfully.

WAYNE: Missed most of what he said because I don’t care, something about being upgraded from a 4 star to a 5star that really was a 6star on some Island in the Caribbean

GUEST SPEAKER:

Shannon Cresswell is the Administrative Coordinator & Support Services Supervisor for The Salvation Army, Family Life Resource Centre. She is representing the Centre on behalf of Marilyn Field who is the Director. Shannon is a part of the management team for this shelter where up to 450 women and children find refuge, support, encouragement and the empowerment they need to move on to independent violence free lives. Through the support of caring people such as the members of our Rotary Club, we can truly make a difference in so many lives. She believes each one of us can make a positive impact in the lives of others and as the Salvation Army motto states: “Give hope today”.
