GUESTS:

MARGARET MCGREGOR, here to keep David in line.

SASHI DOSAJ, here to keep Gyan in line, he can be a real trouble maker.

SYD HARMON, Here to keep us all in line, and because he is usually everywhere.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

RANDY Chaired the meeting because President Jeremy is at a Dreams Take Flight function. Our guest speaker ran into a conflict and couldn’t make the meeting so Syd asked for a few minutes to discuss a proposed Rotary project.

PAST DISTRICT GOV. SYD told us of a fund raising project where all clubs in our immediate area could be involved, we are talking about 13-14 local Rotary Clubs, pooling their manpower to sell raffle tickets on a brand new 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Fines Ford will make it available and on display at local events. The goal is to sell 10,000 tickets @ $20.00 per ticket; we would sell at Bramalea City Centre for example, for maybe one weekend, or help the Brampton Club sell at the Rib Fest. This would go on from May to Sept. each club gets to sell various amounts of tickets and all the funds would be recognized as part of the “Rotary Club Conference Centre” naming opportunity at Bethell Hospice. The project net profit of $150,000 is an important part of providing services at no cost to those who need us. Bethell Hospice.

This is still a proposed idea, but it looks like a great way to get ourselves out in the community and to partner up with the other clubs around us.

Syd also praised our club for adopting the POD System for running meeting, to take the pressure off one person to do it all. If it works it makes for a stronger club, and if you have better meeting, you have a greater chance to attract new members and new members attract new ideas and new ideas bring in new members, etc. etc.

RANDY: Made some announcements, sorry I got lost and don’t know what they where.

THE STUPID DRAW:

RUSS won again, dipshit.

HAPPY BUCKS:

D MAC: Happy Marg here with him and they have to leave early to see a grandson play hockey. Don’t forget “THE DAY AT THE RACES” is Sat. May 31, he needs numbers now. He read a few jokes before he left, not bad.

SASHI. Happy to be here again.

TINA: Happy to have 3 guests here today, always enjoys new people, (Dannie’s boring.)

RAY: Syd likes his boots, even though they are over 30 years old.

WAYNE: Was wondering if Olympic runners with bad shoes, duffer the agony of defeet.

JACK: Mentioned in last weeks Bull, that our speaker on March 5 is QBD. Russ was wondering what that meant. No it is not “Quite Big Dude.” Terry thought “Quick Black Dog”. Dannie thought “Quilted Baby Doll” and D Wac of course thought “Queer Boy Drummer.” You are all wrong. You will have to come to find out, but if you look around our meeting room you find a very good clue. Our speaker on Wed. Mar 19th will be John Cutruzzola from Inzola Construction, to talk to us about the future of Brampton. Go to our Club Runner Website for more info on upcoming events.
