GUESTS:

WILLARD AND SANDRA BURTON: Both with the Brampton Rotary Club, here for a visit and to invite us to the Sept. 9th Coin Show at Century Gardens.

BARKAT KHAN:     In town so he came to see us and have lunch.

HAPPY BUCKS:

BARKAT: It was about a year ago he spoke to us about his Educational Fund. It is taking a long time but it is starting to fall into place and the first student will soon see it.

RANDY: His wife came back to get her hair and nails done. She can’t stay in the US for too long for insurance reasons. She is back in New York now, after paying for hair and nails, Randy said it would have been cheaper to pay for the extended insurance plan.

TINA: Happy to have Sandra and Willard her.

DANNIE: Real happy his #3 bathroom renovation nearly done, because he has to do #2 really bad.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

JACK: Next week August 7, Gillian Maramieri and her father, will be our program. They started a golf tournament called Mulligans for Matthew, to help raise funds to support her young son who was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Jack worked the day of the tournament and was very impressed with all the work that the family and friends went thru to help. He thought it would be nice to here the story and see if we can help in anyway. It would be nice if we had a big turnout next week and we started on time and put on a good show for them. They might be impressed with Rotary and our club and perhaps get some new people interested in Rotary.

GOOD NEWS RUSS: Handed out our 2013-14 Rotary Dues and also our Bingo Schedule. We have 20 dates before New Years. 4 teams, so that is only 5 bingos per member. Not too bad.

RUSS: Our regular Wednesday meeting on August 28 will be cancelled. 8 of our members will be participating in the “Dreams Take Flight” Golf Tournament so that means more than half the club will be away. If anyone wants to join us for dinner at the Golf Coarse that would be possible, but you would half to let him know as soon as possible. It is at the Royal Ontario, Trafalgar Rd. south of Derry Rd. Unfortunately there is a Bingo that night as well (Team 4) so you guys will have to do some shuffling.

TINA: Would like to have the Christmas Auction this year. We booked the hall for Saturday Dec. 28. We need and auctioneer (TERRY are you reading this?? Please??)

THE DRAW:

RANDY won so now he can afford to get his hair done too.

SPEAKER:

WILLARD was kind enough to tell us about his recent stint at the new bingo. It was really quite easy he said. Everyone was real helpful and it was not as hard as he feared it was going to be. They have 3 members on a team like we do and it went really smooth.

He also left us information on the Rotary Club of Brampton event coming up. It is called “Brampton’s Best Coin Show!” Sunday Sept 8 and Sunday Dec. 1st. at Century Gardens.

$3:00 admission, children under 13 are free. They buy & sell trade & appraise at over 40 tables plus a Children’s table. Everyone welcome. For more info willardb@bwcoin.com
