GUESTS:

GLENN GIBSON Ray’s Driver for the day.

CHARLENE GOODWIN, today’s guest speaker from the Canadian Blood Services.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

SARGENT JACK: Today we have 12 members and 2 guests; we have a Bingo tonight and one on Sunday March 15th, 12:30 team 2, and Sunday March 29th, team 4 at 12:30. Due to the fact that we don’t have enough members participating in Bingo, we are going to cut down to 3 teams with 4 members per and the chance of having 2 out of 4 show up are better. There is talk that IRVING will create a program that will automatically call and  remind us of our Bingo Commitments, this will be automatic and something that I can’t explain, its computer magic. Don’t forget, there will not be a noon meeting March 25th. Our club will be attending the R I Presidents Dinner in Guelph Monday March 23 instead. Hope you all can make it and have registered already.

We also received a very nice letter from St Louise Outreach for all our support.

Next weeks speaker will be Sendu Muralee, from the Brampton Rotoract Club reporting to us about their 5th anniversary.

March 18, former member, and Past President, VINCE DINUCCI visit and tell us all about life after Rotary, and how he, his family and business have coped without us

HAPPY BUCKS:

TED: His son bought an old car against everyone’s advice, and has done wonders with it.

D WAC: After much thought he has decided (after 20 plus years) to close down his retail business. He will continue with the music lessons part of it. He has renovated his garage at home to accommodate the sound and operate from there. He wants to thank all for their support and a special thanks to Rotarian Ted for all his support and work with the renovations.( We wish him all the best, we know if must have been a hard decision.)

PRES. Ray: Happy his son Glenn able to bring him today.

THE DRAW:  RANDY won, too bad he has to split with MARTIN because it was huge, over $50 I think, better check it our Marty.

GUEST SPEAKER:

RANDY introduced CHARLENE GOODWIN Territory Manager of Canadian Blood Services, One Match stem cell and marrow network. They took over 11 years ago from the Red Cross, due to the tainted blood scandal. It was a very interesting program and we learned a lot about donating the gift of life. It’s not as easy as it use to be, but it is still very easy and much safer and still urgently need. They also do stem cell and bone marrow clinics.
