GUESTS:

DON WHITE,(my mentor, the man that introduced me to Rotary and started all this mess that I’m in, and that allowed me to introduce so many others into the club and start their Rotary woes, but I digress) former member, 2 time President, and now a member of the Tara Rotary Club and a 3 time President there, No wonder we call him MISTER PRESIDENT!

NED MCLENNAN, also a Past President, (was President for one week, left for medical reasons and Bernie took over and had a 2 year reign.

BARKAT KHAN, international member, here before he goes overseas for the next 6 months.

CHRISTINE BAJCAR. Norbert’s daughter here with her dad.

HAPPY BUCKS:

TED: Thanked President Jeremy for taking his spot at the 50/50 last week, he had to go a visit his dad, missed his son’s hockey game which he broke his wrist at. All is okay now.

MARTIN: Condolences to Norbert and his family. Won it all at the poker tournament he was in. Most important, AAAAARRRRRGOOOOS, ARGOS Grey Cup Champs !

NORBERT: Thanked everyone for the thoughts and support.

NED: 3 Happy bucks, happy to be visiting when Don is here, He is recovering from the flu and probably has infected all of us; he lost 14 pounds for it. He is also sporting a Movember Stash, as we all remember it was Prostate cancer that removed him from his presidency and early detection made it possible to cure. He is pleading with all us men to get the prostate checked every year, every way you can. Early detection means that it can be cured. Not caught early, you die. Pretty solemn message, but true.

DON: Happy to be here and see some of old friends, (Ray, Barkat) they are old. He brings greetings from his club to ours.

JACK: Happy Don here, and did a Dictionary distribution on Monday morning, wore my Argo hat, and one of the young boys was at the Grey Cup Game, it bought a whole new theme to my usual format and was a lot of fun. I also gave a Dictionary to the 6 year old daughter of a friend of mine in Stoney Creek. They had not heard of our project and he thought it was great, his daughter wants to look up words on the computer, but he is afraid she might hit a wrong key and find out stuff she shouldn’t be seeing. She called me that night to thank me for the dictionary and has been using it all day and really loves it.

RUSS: Jack owes 2 bucks for the dictionary he gave out of our area.

GYAN:  Just got back from another trip and sorry to find out about Norbert’s loss.

BARKAT: Also condolences to Norbert and his family. He is very proud of the award of recognition his former company got for all the years of supplying Soccer Uniforms to Soccer Clubs and never having major problems.

D WAC: I was at the bank today, there was a short line. There was just one lady in front of me, and Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars. It was obvious she was a little irritated…She asked the teller “Why it change?   Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen, today I only get hunat eighty?  Why it change?”

The teller shrugged her shoulders and said, “Fluctuations.”

The Asian lady says, “Fluc you white people too”

THE DRAW:

PRESIDENT JEREMY         won and graciously gave it back to the club.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

TINA: She is singing this Friday Night at the Rose Theatre, a Christmas Concert. I think there are still tickets available for this great show.  Also Hockey this Sunday  Help!

D WAC: He is playing in a band her at Spot One, Saturday Night. And his band is playing at Fanzorelli’s on New Years Eve.

JACK; David Smith who visited our club a couple of weeks ago, has decided to join the Heart Lake Club, but will be doing make ups at our club all the time.

JEREMY: Did a Dictionary Distribution and the Principal introduced him by saying all the things he was going to say in his speech, so he had to wing it off the cuff, which is something he can’t do and screwed it up big time. By the end of his talk the kids where giving the dictionaries back to him and suggesting he read it. (Just Kidding.)

We have no speaker today so he asked Don White to tell us a little about the Rotary Club of Tara. They meet Monday Nights at the Tara United Church and the Woman’s Club prepares the supper and it is a lot of fun. He has been with the club 18 years now and been President 3 times, they have the same problems we have with members and even fewer members. He still enjoys Rotary, and has met a few former members in the area. Mike Mason being one who is with the Wiarton Rotary Club which is in the same district and Don’s brother Dennis is in the club too.

Just got back from Mr. Bajcar’s Funeral. Very emotional day, Norbert held up well and gave a very eloquent eulogy, had us all in tears. Well done Norbert. Your father was a great man and he would be so proud of you today.
